Tim has spent his career creating and delivering innovative marketing and technology solutions for multi-national companies, whilst working in smaller, dynamic and highly creative businesses. With each new step, Tim’s conviction has grown that the most exciting and transformative challenge in businesses large and small is to realize the full potential of their people, which explains his passion for Chemistry’s brave intent and delight at being part of the team.
Over the past two years, Tim has addressed this challenge by completing an internationally accredited diploma in Advanced Executive Coaching to complement his existing qualifications as a Master Practitioner in NLP, and has coached current and next-generation leaders in consumer technology, media, financial services and entertainment businesses.
At Dunnhumby, the customer-insights consultancy behind the success of Tesco’s Clubcard scheme, Tim was a member of the UK and Ireland Board and head of its retail media division. Tim led a diverse team of experts that worked with Tesco and it’s suppliers to optimize the returns for both parties from a portfolio of media properties.
This followed a four-year entrepreneurial adventure that started with a blank piece of paper plus a vision about consumer behaviour and concluded with the sale of a retail technology business called ‘M’ (nothing like keeping it simple!) to a multi-national bank. Tim was a founding shareholder and Managing Director of ‘M’ and will, at the slightest provocation, entertain you with stories of the many learning curves he climbed along the way, so beware!
Tim spent the previous decade both aboard and on the Board of a marketing services agency called The Yellow Submarine. As its first employee, Tim grew with the business, contributing much to its evolution into a company with an incredibly talented and aligned crew whose clients valued their creativity and commitment. This experience taught Tim much about the challenges and joys of growing a small, passionate business with a distinctive brand and culture.
Looking even further back into the mists of time, Tim spent his early career in a variety of agency- and client-side marketing roles, albeit in companies with much more sensible names like Dixons Stores Group, or Clarke-Hooper Consulting.
