Amy joined Chemistry in 2011 following a year working as a Consultant in the Talent Management industry at A&DC. She has worked with both Public and Private sector clients to project manage and deliver Assessment and Development Centres across the UK and Europe.

During her previous role, Amy gained experience using behavioural assessment to recruit and select talent into organisations. Her client base included working with FTSE 100 companies in a range of industries such as banking, travel, and retail. In addition, she worked with various Public sector clients such as Housing Associations and Councils around the UK. Amy was also responsible for resourcing projects to the Consulting team, and managing the Associate Network.

Her career in this field began after obtaining a Distinction in her Masters Degree in Occupational and Organisational Psychology at the University of Surrey. Prior to this, Amy gained valuable experience working as an Attractions Assistant Manager at LEGOLAND Windsor, managing two large teams of seasonal employees. As a manager Amy was involved with Performance Management, Assessment Centres and delivered a range of workshops for staff with a focus on customer service.

Amy has gained Certificates of Competence in Occupational Testing (Levels A and B) and is a fully trained Assessor and Centre Manager, endorsed by the Institute of Leadership & Management. Amy has a special interest in the role of positive psychology at individual, group and organisational level. In particular, her dissertation investigated the role of social identity and social support on burnout and work-life balance.

At Chemistry, Amy is driven and passionate about working with both people and psychology to ensure organisations and employees have the opportunity to perform at their very best.

Strength Behaviours

brainProcessing Information

When making a decision Amy always compares merits of two or more realistic alternatives, by stating the pros and cons of each. Amy may create over-arching plan or strategy as a result of this analysis that maximises the benefits and minimises the downsides of the original options. Amy manages solution comparison as a core part of solution development.

iPImproving Performances

Focuses the processes and work of organisation on adding value to the customer. This involves the ongoing measurement of product or service characteristics (e.g., customer satisfaction) and the systematic setting, achievement and upgrading of stretching but realistic performance improvement targets. The people actually doing the work receive regular information and use this feedback to improve the performance of the team or unit over time.

Making it Happen

Amy reduces the internal or external constraints on self and others to enhance the freedom for action and the scope for initiative. E.g., redesigns jobs to allocate more responsibility to the people closest to the customer; strips away unnecessary bureaucracy. Is always a step ahead of the game, presenting and signposting information, structure and next steps before others have even got the issue of the agenda. Leaves others with a strong sense of personal control, power and organisation.
