2009 - An Amazing Year for the Chemistry Group

RSS Feeds

Just finished working through our 2009 year with Mike, our enthusiastic and not so coherent Finance Controller, bottom line by any measurement Chemistry had an amazing year, actually the best year in our 7 year history!

The financial results were extremely strong, we enter 2010 with an incredible balance sheet but more importantly with a core team from which we can build.

So what happened in 2009?

Well we got up to some really cool stuff, including completely transforming the leadership team within the Caribbean's largest employer, LIME, as well as building them a retail recruitment process.  We helped VEGA (defence consultancy) find some key people, Herman Miller (cool furniture) raise the calibre of its sales people.  Airwave Solutions engage its employees in its new strategic direction.  3Com understand what makes its best sales people great and how to recruit great sales people every time.  Helped Serco understand what its recruitment looks like and where the opportunity to develop a better internal recruitment service was.  Helped C&W International build its initial succession plans, whilst rolling out recruitment training to all the managers within Allied Bakeries and Speedibake and helping the British Heart Foundation find it's recruiting mojo.  On the green side we assisted Climate Strategies find a new Centre Director and BP (tenuous link I know) decide where to put its MBAs this year.  We hired and profiled for Nokia, continued to build on our 5 year relationships with Yell & LexisNexis and helped via our TalentLabs, Amey hire on to their grad scheme.  Finally washing it all down by helping Constellation Wines find some critical hires in the UK & Europe...phew...

We are fortunate to work with great clients and their great people, as a brand we choose to be different, we are thrilled that the companies listed above believe that difference counts.

Chemistry in 2009 saw 70% of our revenues come from Management Consulting fees, the remaining 30% from our Executive Search offering.  50% of our work was delivered overseas, our people have travelled to 13 Caribbean Islands, New York, Italy, Spain, France, Holland, Monaco, Florida, Solihull and Slough in the name of all things talent.

2010 has started with a bang, Dimension Data and Vodafone just two of the global customers now using Chemistry to help realise the value of their people.  January 2010 will be a record month for the company...

We need to thank, our truly awesome clients, who despite all our idiosyncrasies believe the different way brings huge value and continue to do us the honour of hanging out with us, we hope they have had, and continue to have, as much fun as us!  Our partners, Mike & Elaine Denison who keep the finances under control, IGF who keep the cash coming, Ed Percival who makes us stop and plan, we hate and love him for it :-)

So that's it, a brilliant year, 2010 already rocks.  Look out for new team members, new very cool products, (including one that we believe we change the SME recruitment market forever :-)) and more professionally irreverent people stuff.
