Chemistry Recruiting Master Class Proves Resounding Success

Thursday 13th November saw the latest Recruiting Master Class offered by the Chemistry Network, a group of professionals who meet to explore problems facing the recruitment industry. This month the topic of discussion was “how to reduce your recruiting costs by up to 50%.”  The afternoon covered the impact of the internet on the recruitment market, best practice ideas on the use of job boards effectively, some of the latest web based recruitment technology. Roger Philby, founder of Chemistry recruitment lead the discussion drawing on the experience he gained as both a recruitment consultant and as Head of Resourcing EMEA for Nortel Networks.  Roger’s enthusiasm and passion coupled with this in depth knowledge of his industry assured an exciting and informative afternoon.  The was added to by a presentation given by Matt Cummings of Webrecruit, the UK No. 1 flat fee online recruitment specialists, focusing on their alternative way of sourcing candidates.  A session was also devoted to Recruitment Process Outsourcing (RPO), led by Jo Port of IMS Empresaria - one of India’s largest recruitment outsourcing companies. All attendants found the Master Class to be extremely helpful and everyone took away some tips or advice they had not previously thought of. Chemistry Features in Recruiter Magazine

This month has been fantastic at Chemistry as we burst onto the front page of Recruiter Magazine.  It was a great opportunity for us to express our views on the current state of the recruitment market and what we think needs to be done. The feature article covers Roger’s (our CEO) early career as both a recruitment consultant and later as Head of Resourcing for Nortel Networks.  He talks about his experiences and the problems he encountered working on both sides of the recruitment industry.  Roger then explains how recruitment doesn’t have to be associated with the negative stereotypes it evokes at the moment.  He sets out his vision for the future of recruitment as a service based industry where both candidates and clients have amazing experience.  Chemistry's message is definitely gathering momentum - the change is coming!

CIPD Case Study on Chemistry
