The Problem
Lime’s business unit was greatly underperforming and there was a sense that this was because the executive team were not performing the way they should be. Chemistry were invited into the business as consultants to give an opinion on the effectiveness of the executive team as they stood, and give our recommendations. Chemistry spent some time observing and shadowing the team’s performance and profiled all the employees. Given Lime’s business strategy the conclusion was that the team wasn’t fit for purpose. How We Helped Chemistry facilitated and project managed the evolution of the executive team into what it is today, managing the exits, the recruitment and the organisational design. We also profiled the 200 managers below the executive team to understand the capability across the organisation. In doing this we uncovered some huge behavioural development needs, which we are addressing through our coaching and development programme Pod Coaching. In addition to this we also designed, built and are in the process of deploying new recruitment processes for Lime across the region. The Result The executive team now has more national Caribbean’s than at any other time, and there is a succession plan in place. 160 senior managers are now receiving badly needed development in order to change their behaviour, and therefore the culture of the organisation. The downsizing that was required was carried out intelligently and only people that the profiling identified as the least value add were removed from business, ensuring Lime were not losing the people that they really needed.![]()
