Video – The future of apprenticeships

Join City & Guilds and Chemistry to find out how to take advantage of the new apprenticeship levy by bringing great apprentices into your business and getting the best from them.

The new apprentice levy is hitting businesses across the UK and a lot of people are getting nervous. We think there’s a huge opportunity there though.

The apprenticeships programme is widely regarded as successful and provides benefits to both employers and apprentices. For apprentices, it can equip them with the skills needed for a successful career and be a genuine alternative to going to University or even an opportunity to combine an apprenticeship with higher education. For employers, it can provide a highly efficient and effective means of developing the skills of their workforce.

With the government announcing the new apprenticeships levy we discuss what the future holds.

 

To help us understand the planned changes we were very fortunate to be joined by Managing Director of City & Guilds Kirstie Donnelly.

Throughout her career, Kirstie has spearheaded the development of award-winning products and services across the adult and consumer learning marketplace and is a passionate advocate of the role of digital and social media in transforming how people live, learn and work. Her commitment to this area was recognised when she was awarded an MBE in the Queens Honours for her services to e-learning in the FE/Adult sector in 2011.

Joining Kirstie is Chemistry founder Roger Philby.
